We have officially made into the 3rd trimester! The countdown is on.
I had my 28 week appointment today- they measured my belly and listened to the heartbeat. A quick in and out appointment!
Here's the update:
How far along: 28 weeks
Size of the baby: What to Expect says small cabbage- 17 inches & 2.9 lbs. Sprout says 2 and a half pounds. And another app I dowloaded, called I'm Expecting, says iceberg lettuce- 14.8 inces & 2.2 lbs. So, take your pick!
Weight gain: So far, 17 lbs. total...moving on up.
Maternity clothes: Fully involved with the maternity clothes. I found a super cute maternity website and got 2 dresses for an upcoming wedding- Figure8 Maternity. Google them.
Gender: Girl!
Movement: She is a wiggle worm and moves and kicks constantly. She even moved for the doctor this morning.
Sleep: Still can't really complain. I would much rather be sleeping on my back, but I'm trying to keep getting used to my side. I have been wearing braces on my hands to cut down on the "dead hands" I was getting so frequently. Now, I only wake up once or twice and have to shake my hands back awake.
What I miss: Blue Moon (this hasn't changed since the beginning) and my wedding rings on days that my fingers are too swollen to wear them.
Cravings: none
Other crazy symptoms: I've been having the carpal tunnel like symptoms- tingly hands, especially my right hand's pointer and middle finger going numb all the time. I've also had Braxton Hicks contractions, but those don't bother me so much because there is no pain associated with them. The indigestion continues. I passed my sugar test at last month's visit, but my iron is low, so I'm working on getting that back up to par.
Baby's milestones: From Sprout: Baby G may now be able to distinguish my voice from her daddy's. From I'm Expecting: Baby G's brain is now developing folds and grooves and she continues to add fat to her body. Her muscle tone is improving, which may lead to stronger kicks (definitely happening!) And my What to Expect app has decided to flake out, so no milestones from that one today!
Best moment this week: Just hearing that everything is still looking great. And feeling her move so much more.
Up next: Our 4D ultrasound at 30 weeks. Yippee!!
CONGRATS! This is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It is amazing to see them in an ultrasound and hear their little heartbeats and feel them move, every time! :)
